The pool-bar area offers a 12 meter swimming pool, petanque/bocce court, pool table, darts and a large circular fire-pit perfect for after-dinner travel-chat, singing and the odd guitar player. When the weather permits, dinner is served at the pool area under a star-lit sky with 180 degree view of the bay and ocean.
Palm trees line the coast and at the Lodge we have both landscaped gardens and “wild” areas which include several species of hibiscus, banana, and palm. There is an abundance of mango trees that are favorites of the Vervet Monkeys! The monkeys inhabit the trees throughout the camp and in the evening, you can hear the call of the Bush Babies.
Our secluded beach is one of Mkoma Bays best features, no beach boys, no salesmen….pretty much NO ONE at all!
You can walk for an hour right into Pangani at low tide or around the bay to see the fossils and giant sea shells and not see another soul!
Watch the sunset across the Indian Ocean and have a starlight dinner enjoying the scenes of the cosmic galaxy.
