Under new ownership and management, Mkoma Bay Tented Lodge (formerly Argovia Tented Lodge) is the dream of Lisa and Ulrik Lind. With over 23 years of relief and development experience in Africa, the Linds have changed careers to provide a place of relaxation offering superb service. Using their experience, they work closely with the local community to provide support for development activities such as carpentry workshop and assistance to local environmental initiatives.

To cater to local as well as international guests, languages spoken by Mkoma Bay staff include English, Danish, French, Spanish, German, and of course, Ki Swahili!

Located just 45 kilometers south of Tanga and four kilometers north of Pangani, our well-equipped tents and bandas nestled in amongst a forest like environment have the appeal of a safari camp with the added advantage of being on the Indian Ocean. With the added amenities of one of the few swimming pools on the north coast and panoramic bar/restaurant, you can lie by the pool or sip a cool drink while gazing out onto Mkoma Bay. The restaurant provides excellent meals specializing in seafood and utilizing local produce.
